The Virginia Association of Visiting Teachers/School Social Workers began recognizing an outstanding VT/SSW of the year at their annual state conference in 2001. Each region selects one VT/SSW to be nominated for this prestigious recognition. One of the nominees is selected as the VT/SSW of the year.
